Added a ‘Per Installment’ Option for Expense ‘Frequency’ in SightMap.

What's changing?

We've added a new expense frequency option for 'per installment' to the SightMap calculator. This option is now available across Atlas, the SightMap REST API, and all SightMap embeds. Expenses configured with this frequency will display in the calculator's "monthly" due at timing box, using terminology that aligns with student housing industry standards. This update went live in October 2025.

What to expect:

You can now configure expenses using 'per installment' frequency, which is designed specifically for student housing properties. While 'per installment' expenses function identically to 'monthly' expenses in the calculator interface, this terminology better reflects how student housing communities structure their payment schedules. The option is fully integrated across all systems.

What do you need to do?

If you operate student housing properties and prefer 'installment' terminology, you can now select 'per installment' as a frequency option when creating or editing expenses via the API. No changes are required for existing expenses unless you want to adopt this new frequency type. It is not recommended that you use the 'per installment' frequency for non-student housing properties.
